STIR

Since the establishment of the Raffinerie in 1963 and in accordance with international and Tunisian regulations, the security service is permanently in charge of:
 

  • Guarding, peripheral monitoring of the Refinery and access control;
  • Maintenance and testing of emergency devices;
  • Periodic training on different scenarios to master intervention technics;
  • Prevention of accidents and incidents;
  • Assistance of works and building sites;
  • Inspection of facilities in accordance with current safety standards;
  • Appliance and follow-up of recommendations from accredited bodies.

  • 6 fire trucks;
  • Stock of 300,000 liters Safety Emulsifier;
  • 517 First aid fire extinguishers;
  • Various prevention materials and personal protective equipment.



     

INTERNAL OPERATION PLAN (P.O.I)

The STIR has implemented an intervention guide plan appropriate to each function within the Refinery with the following missions:

  • Danger study to identify major risks;
  • Study of the typical scenario;
  • Inventory of intervention means and resources for each scenario;
  • Definition of Responsibilities and Authorities.

REGIONAL AND NATIONAL RADIACY

All the existing potentialities in the refinery are available to regional and national authorities.

The STIR also participates with civil protection in any specific demonstration and intervention.
